Maternity gowns

When I first started maternity photography I sourced materials like silk and chiffon and tulle just to wrap over the pregnant body. I came to the conclusion very quickly this was too hard for several reasons. Trying to fix chiffon (or any slippery material) temporally to a pregnant body was difficult and it generally ended up hanging in a very unflattering manner around her ankles! Take this scenario outdoors (and into the wind) increased the level of difficulty and the degree of embarrassment for the mumma who usually ended up unclothed.

My maternity sessions are quite an investment for the pregnant woman and her partner and I have the ideal within my business to create a beautiful and fun photo shoot in order to create heirloom images.

Those fond memories of motherhood begin before the birth while you’re still feeling refreshed, beautiful and excited about the joy of your new arrival! This is the beginning of the new life growing inside you; your body as one with your unborn child. An experience we are blessed with for a very short time in our lives. Will you remember your beautiful baby bump or how gorgeous you looked? Sometimes we may think we don’t want to capture this time. Whatever reasons we may have, this is a moment in your life you will treasure forever - truly! Maternity photographs are personal and a change in our body we should capture and embrace. I want the pregnant woman to look her most gorgeous during her maternity photoshoot. I know I didn't feel it when I was heavily pregnant with my babies, but there is truly a glow about pregnancy and I want to be able to put my mummas in gowns that are beautiful, feminine and flowing to enhance the beauty that comes from within.

I sourced a company from the States that makes an amazing array of gowns, skirts, bandeaus, tops, and dresses.I am constantly browsing their site and updating my collection. The images I have shown below are NOT my photographs. They are shown here to represent the products I have purchased  and have available solely for my maternity clients. I feel its quite important for my clients to know what options they have to wear before their session and am I displaying these image here for you to see what I have to offer. You are always more than welcome to bring your own clothes and use those in your session, but know that I have a selection for you to chose from. We can generally get through 2-3 outfit changes in a session. I have more than I have shown here and am constantly updating the maternity wardrobe! Enjoy perusing my selection and know that I am always looking to buy more!

These are all my images taken of my clients to demonstrate the gowns I have.

NB - as of February 2018 I have 4 new gowns that are yet to be photographed (you can see them at the bottom of the images) - they are steel grey, pink, white and royal blue.

Please note that the below images are not my images - I have added them here to show the new gowns I have just purchased that are yet to be photographed with my clients. The pink and the steel grey are multiway dressed that can be worn many ways. The white and navy are off the shoulder gowns and are fitted to the knee.
